How many pounds of sand?

    We got aragamax sand (sugar sized) as well. Is this the easiest way to rinse it? I've heard of people funneling it into the tank through a PVC tube. This seems like it would be awfully difficult if the sand was wet.. I don't know how I would dry it, maybe pointing a fan at it? Any insight?

    I dont bother to rinse it, the dust will settle in a day or 2 and is beneficial to building the bacterial load in the sand.

    most people I know go with 1lb per gallon, but I personally like a .8lbs/gallon ratio. It all depends on how thick you want the sand bed. I personally don't like it too thick
