    I used stress coat once and it made my skimmer go nuts ,over flowing like mad

    Typically I do exactly what you do actually. It has worked well for me. One thing to check though is the SG that your LFS keeps tanks at. The LFS I go to keeps their reef tanks at 1.025 and their fish at 1.021. When I buy fish from them, I take an extra long time to acclimate the fish as I keep my reef at 1.0255.

    Dim the lights in the room and leave moon led's in tank, do drip method for at least 45 min. to an hour. Float bag in tank for about 15 minutes, hold net in large Tupperware container and poor bag into net, catching the fish, but leaving him in water. Then I bring net to tank, and allow the net to sit in tank holding fish, to allow everyone to calm down a bit before letting fish swim free.
