how long till chaeto rights my water params?

    lol i think i know why the ammonia is up. wanna guess what i forgot to do? well if you guessed change the filter cartridges for 2 months then you are correct. they were disgusting. this is the only thing that i can think of that would cause ammonia in my tank. so i took it out and am just gonna use chaeto for the time being. well see what that does.

    Prime is a water conditioner. Makes ammonia and nitrite none toxic, also declorinates the water :)

    I always keep a botle handy just in case...

    prime is a additive that detoxify ammonia it will help

    You might like the no filter situation.
    I have ran many Reef tanks with no mechanical filtration other than the protein skimmer

    my current 65 has none

    i have heard a few people say they dont use mechanical filtration. so ill try it and see how it goes. i dont have a protein skimmer though. so it might go differently than it did for you. we'll see.
