How fast can an anemone eat? Is my goby gone?

Last night my yellow watchman goby swam right into my LTA and the thing shut really fast but instead of shutting around the fish it retreated like when you hit it with your hand. But I looked last night and alot of today for my goby and I cannot find him. I am wondering how long it would take for it to eat the goby? Also I fingered through the tentacles and then drained the water out and tried to look in its mouth and didn't see anything. Should I be worried?

I'm sorry man, but that little goby was gone (completely swallowed) after about 10 mins. :(

That sucks, my YWG is my favorite fish.

Oh I missed that, my bad. Well, if you pulled him out then he's probably ok, laying low while his sunburn heals.

I know how you feel. I woke up about a week ago and all I could see sticking out of my anem was the tail end of my banghai cardinal. That fish lasted a whole 60 hours in my tank before becoming a $20 snack. It's the only fish I ever lost in my tank.

    Sorry dude,
Makes you wonder why a Clownfish can just sit in the anemone for hours....
    Clowns even bring them food.
I had an anemone once, my puffer made it dinner for one.
What I understand is that the anemone will only live for about 9 months total in a aquarium. Not sure if this is true or not but I read it this week on the internet. And you know all the information on the internet is valid right?
Get a Clown and keep the anemone depending on the type.
