how does this sump work

    so how much water in the sump do i need? i dont think that sumps are all the way full?

    atleast enough that it works and the pump isn't sucking in air. ;)

    you understand your turning off the power to the impellar in the overflow not the return pump to the display right?

    I would get the overflow started, and let water drain until it won't anymore. Mark that water level as the minimum. Then, fill up the sump to the top of that rightmost baffle. Turn on the return pump. Mark that level as the maximum.

    Then, you know the range you have for the operational water level to be at.

    well i have had water in there for a while like a month. do you think its still good?

    bump also the filter or overflow(?) is 160 gallons per min, the pump is 1880liters (496*gallons) per min

    did you try what I told you with the overflow and then adjust the return with the ball valve.

    not yet just found out that the water in the sump has high levels of nitrates in it.
