I have a lot of bubble algae growing in my 10g, around my pwr head intake and on my LR. Any fish I can get or do I just need put my hand in there and scrap them off? What will happen if they pop? Will they cause any other algae issues? Thanks for any advise 50JC

dont scrape them off. When you pop them it realeses more spores to the water and causes more to develop.

Green emerald crabs will eat some types. What I do is get a turkey baster and squeeze it so that it is ready to suck and place it right on the bubble and allow it to suck it into the baster. After a few times practicing you will get better at removing the bubble and not a ton of water. If a few pops it is not the end of the world but best try not to

Is your bubble algae a bunch of small ones clumped together or, larger ones sporadically placed in the tank?

I have about...hold on Im checking...There is about 3 groups of 15 or 20 medium red Bulbs. Then there is a few just around the tank. The ones that are together are not connected just close. 50JC

Sounds like valonia. AKA: your typical green bubble algae. I have the ventricaria ventricosa type.

Manual removal will be most effective I have found. An emerald or few may help with it also. Keep nutrients down and/or add competition macro.
