Hey buddy, I would test the ro water and the tap. Also if you can test for no3 and po4, which feed the algae. Are the filters new in the ro unit? Are you putting the tap water straight into the tank?

buying it ( ro ) from the LFS? Let me ask you one more question, is your tank getting any type of sunlight? direct or indirect

sounds like new tank syndrome. i would definatly test the tap and ro water but my guess is just wait it out and it should be alright . what kind of clean up crew do you have nemo?

That would be my guess too if it's only a month old. Part of the cycle.

get the free TDS meter that was posted here, could tell you if the LFS is giving you good water, but i agree with above its probably NTS and stay away from Tap. I use tap and it gave me hair algae for like 6-7 weeks in the beggining of my tank but now its gone. weird huh?

    all water isn't the same

    HI,
many LPS use high pressure systems many don't use RO/DI filters due to cost.
I work in a lab here in va and we had to spend a lot of money to be sure our water was silica free, silica is very difficult to remove from tap water.
Most R/0 Di tanks are only as good as their history and frequency of changing when needed and the last time it was tested by a third party.
Even if the resistance is up there still may be silica in the water.
