Horrible Algae Problems

I'd get ya a CUC from reefcleaners.org! Much cheaper than a LFS plus it will be varied so it will take care of a variety of issues! Be careful with a coral banded shrimp, they like to kill stuff! especially hermits and snails!

 

yea! im ordering a cleaner package lots and lots of snails.

 

How long should i give the snails to see improvement its been a week so far and im begining to think there retarded.

 

Sorry to here about your ordeal...Using Tap water was your main problem...an ro/di filter is a must in this hobby....Most clean up crews work best at night...Depending on the severity of your algae Id give it more then a week...turbo snails and zebra snails do the best job...they never stop eating even when the lights are on.Hermit crabs are good...they just don't work as fast...F.Y.I a U.V sterolizer will help prevent unwanted algae blooms,improve water clarity as well as help the fight against ick.Good luck!!!
