Ok, I'd love to get rid of him, but I can't get to him. He's inside a small hole in the rock. I tried a piece of shrimp but he didn't buy it. I have the rock out of the water now. Anyone have any tricks on how to get him?

in case of future nusience crabs (you gotta think where there was one there is more) use a glass with a bit of food in the bottom. Most crabs go for the food then cant climb back out. Tonight wake up during the night and check for additional but more secretive crabs with a light! Good job catching him!

Thanks for the advice! I'll check tonight. I saw a ton of pods come off it when I removed it so that's a good sign as far as hitchhikers go. The only other hitchhikers I've seen are tons of feather dusters on the rocks and a small clear shrimp. Glass shrimp maybe? I'm not sure, but he looks harmless.

Good call with the extra crabs! I found another smaller one inside an even smaller hole. I also found a whelk that has been captured as a P.O.W.(tossed him.. lol)
I plan to attack tonight to capture the other crab.... There shall be no survivors.... (hopefully::))

Keep an eye out for other nocturnal creatures that need to be removed.

How many pounds of LR are in the tank?
