I'm new to saltwater. I'm in high school, and after taking a marine bio course last year my parents are letting me set up a saltwater tank, and giving me a jump start as far as money goes. I'm planning on a 29 gallon. I'm taking my time buying equiptment and doing lots of reading up on maintaining a salt tank. I've been into freshwater for about a year and a half. So I'm just here to learn as much as I can before starting saltwater. So, I'll probably ask way too many questions, but hopefully I can get this thing going as smooth as possible.

no such thing as asking too many questions ;) If you're looking for some easy fish to start out with, i got two false perculas (a mated pair , cool behavior to watch). They are very hardy and very interactive (they eat right out of my hand). Just thought I would suggest them for you :)

and P.S. they do not require an anemone to keep them

A pair of false perculas have actually been on my list since I decided to start this tank. I'm still deciding what else I'll keep. I've got a lot of ideas, but nothing for sure.

I'd love to keep an anemone after I get a hang of the whole saltwater thing. Once I have a well established tank I'd love to keep one.
