    Here is a little update.

    I added a little bit of water to the tank and tested for ammonia again. Unfortunately it looks like a little bit is still hanging around.

    I did another test on saltwater with no ammonia added, and the test appeared lighter. :(

    To make sense of all this you really need to get a nitrite test kit. Why would fresh seawater have any ammonia?
