Help with metal stand

    i have not leak tested the tank yet i will build the stand first then leak test. then send the metal stand back to my lfs.

    Scarp that piece of junk for your sanity, not worth the risk AT ALL.

    This is what a good stand looks like. All 1 1/2" square tube. Show your LFS this picture and tell them to get with the program.

    he did say he had a guy would would custom build a metal stand I will ask him about it because like i said he will not guaranty the tank if i build my own stand.

    I don't think the strength of the box is needed but it would be much more likely to be straight which is more important. Either way I think wood is better unless it is absolutely necessary to span great distances without a brace.

    The stand definitely has to be built right. We had one custom built for our 140 and it's powdercoated. We'll be putting a plywood/foam (probably floor-backing foam) sandwich under the tank and eventually skin it with magnet-held wood.

    Probably more then it would cost you to have a good welder build you one there ;D
