    That first pic is a tunicate. I have several of them in one of my tanks. Its not a sponge because it would not have survived shipping from fiji years ago when I ordered my liverock.

    Actually, I believe that all of the pics on that page are sponges?

    They're neither good nor bad really...just sponges :) They'll filter your water a little bit but not much if you've only got one or two :)

    How low was the S.G of the tank ? If it dropped low enough to kill the fish that may explain the puff ball or Fungus..
