i would not put anything over the korlilia 2 in a 55 it will blow sand like a tornado and i would start out with one pump in the senter and work your way to one side see wher you like the flow the best and see if you would need a second pump

1 Koralia 2 would not be nearly enough flow in any 55, let alone a 55 long

Turnover rate means the rate at which your entire tank is recirculated. Meaning if you want a 40x turnover rate in your 55, you would want 2200 GPH of total flow in your tank. That is counting skimmer, filter, powerheads, etc. Keep in mind that multiple smaller units are generally better than 1 big unit.
I would start out with a pair of the Koralia 2's, 1 in each back corner, pointing to the front middle of the tank, as cuttin suggested. Have the currents from each run directly into each other, as this will create a random, chaotic water current, which is better than just a constant steady flow. If you want also, you cab run another powerhead on the back, going the length of the tank near the bottom, this will help with deadspots and stuff collecting behind your rockwork.
I would get a pair of the Koralia 2's to start out with. Trust me, you'll be happy with them.

I am currently increasing my flow to 40x turnover in my 75g. I am at about 32x right now and I don't think it's enough. Koralias are great.

Is this what we're talking about then:

Hydor Hydor Koralia Centrifugal Water Pump Water Pumps

    What's the difference between a
    Hydor Koralia Centrifugal Water Pump

    and
Hydor Koralia Controllable Pump / Powerhead

They look the same on the website... with different prices.

So is there not a difference? Because I see these for different prices on the same page.
