+100 on the SpectraPure 90gpd unit. Got mine about a year ago, my 1st RO/DI system. Built extremely well, works fabulous, plug n play. I was aprpehensive because I thought it would be confusing how to hook it up, etc, but it's so easy to use. I can't plumb mine so I hook mine up one night a week and make 10g for my top off/water change and then put it away. It takes roughly 3.5-4hrs for me, pressure may vary from house to house but you want to get at least 40+psi to run it efficiently. Your waste to pure ratio will be important when you receive it and run it, make sure to read the instruction on trimming the flow restrictor accordingly if your ratio is off.

+1 also on the handheld TDS meter, although the SpectraPure's come with dual in-line, it's just nice to have a handheld like the TDS-3 by HM, here's a link to it: TDS-3 Handheld Meter With Carrying Case - HM Digital. Should be fairly easy to find on eBay cheap.

+1 i just bought one. scheduled to be delivered Wednesday. I'm excited to get it and have heard nothing but good reviews. For the price the offer the best filter variety. You could get cheaper but you would be sacrificing water quality.

Thanks for everybodys overwhelming input! So far,the lowest cost unit i've found is on ebay and looks like a chinese pos, just looks cheaply made.So for the difference in price,it's pretty much a no brainer for the spectrapure 90.Be ordering within the next week. Thanks eveybody!

Very wise choice, buying no-name cheaper RO/DI's can def turn out more expensive in the end. You will be super happy with the SpectraPure!

Yeah, based on everyones opinion here and the reveiws i've read so far,and it's still in the same price range as the cheaper made ones,so i'm definatly going with the 90.

Ok,you guys got me looking at The Filter Guys 5stage unit now as well,i like the $199 setup they have(pretty much everything id need). But i'm still looking for the spectrapure unit that's $145,I've found the unit on several sites, just not for that price, does anyone know who has it at that price?

Stick with spectrapure. 199 is overkill. 4 stage will do you just fine.

5 stage adds an extra carbon; not needed. The actual micron ratings of the carbon and sediment are higher at FG, too, which means more stuff gets through to the RO. The Spectrapure comes with the TDS meter and pressure gauge; you pay extra at filterguys.

The $145 Spectrapure is normally $250, but there's a huge discount when you order through this link.
