I have a rock w/ some purple mushrooms on it and the first month or so I had it it was doing great, but now for the last 4 months it's all shriveled and losing some color and sometimes the mushrooms just let loose and float away. I have 192watts of lighting (1 50-50 and 1 antinic) they are at the bottom of the tank and I was told they were shocked becuz of the light, someone please give me an anwser.

192 watts of lighting and its 2 lamps - so I imagine there are power compacts 96 watts each?

how large is the tank - what depth are the shrooms at?

it could be light, where they new when you got them, as typically Compact flourescents require changing at 6 - 9 months as they lose intensity quickly

it could also be other issues

do you know your current parameters? temp, PH, salinity, calcium, magnesium, DKH

have you tested for ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate recently?

what else is in the tank?

    Steve

Flow in your tank? Filtration? Is only the foot losing color, or the entire shroom.

I agree sounds like light shock, try to shade the mushroom.

what bulbs did you have prior to February? it looks like 75% of your lighting is now actinic so they might need more light.

The wheel is gone out of the filter. Yes I mix the water w/ a powerhead and heater the night before. I am shading the mushrooms with screen. And I had 1 10k bulb and 1 antinic (460nm i think) All other corals are doing fine even my Pink Flowerpot (Gonopora). So is my Candy cane coral

A pic of the mushrooms will help. Mushrooms will release their hold if they do not like the lighting and/or flow. If the light is too low they will stretch to the light.
