    Yea I was beginning to think it was that too. But the global distribution is all wrong for this lil guy. I think it's a carribean species.

    Eye witness. I've seen huge mounds of these in the keys. Dry rocks reef for one example at John Pennekamp.

    You could very well be correct. It does look like a cupped boulder coral. It's so hard to do online ID's.
