Here are some pics of a hitchhiker crab. The pic shows the size. It was in a tupperware bowl and you can see the size identifier for comparison.

Thanks for your assistance. It is house in the DSB in my sump until I get my fuge up and running.

New pic of this guy, I never moved it to the fuge, but found it in there tonight while looking to see how nasty the fuge looks.

New pic of the little guy, the carapace looks to be about the size of a silver dollar now.

For reference the circle around the 2 in the middle pic below is about the size of a dime. The carapace is at least the size of a quarter now.

Looks like an emerald crab, as far as body structure.

I don't like the uneven claw size and the claw tips don't look like they are flattened like an emerald.

Not an emerald for sure. The left claw looks bigger than the other and the markings ring a bell. I've seen this crab before but just can't remember.

That looks a lot like the little guy, especially the claws. K+

The sump is where it is at right now and the fuge will be it's permanent residence.

Cool. Let the little guy live his days out where he can't do any harm. :)

I was looking at your thread and my son saw the picture of your hitch hiker and next thing i know he came back with a toy crab from his toy box. Funny cause it kind of looks like it. The name of this crab is china, at least thats the name imprinted on the bottom of the crab. ;D
