    I know its not a great photo but the two polyps that came on my star colony, when opened, look like a sun coral polyp while the polyp is retracted. The polyp functions more like a mouth though and the brown tissue surrounding the polyp is soft. I have searched every resource I know to search and cannot find anything similar.

    may be some sort of Palythoa or zoanthus species!

    i'm not sure,like you said its not a good photo but you may try looking up different types of sea squirts and sponges.
