    make sure the bulb in your uv isnt more than 6 -9 months old.you may want to try a few algae blennies and a rabbit fish, i heard these guys love the algae. good luck

    coraline growth?I have lots of coraline growth so no chance of the green stuff.see what happens when don't clean your tank for 3 weeks..was working at lot:mad: [​IMG]

    Bird lady said it first and Covey expanded: The algae is there because something is feeding it. With all of the creatures in your tank, a lot of ammonia is being produced and the nitrogen cycle is producing fertilizer for the algae. The nitrate test is more tricky than those for pH, ammonia, etc. and I would question the results the test is showing you.
    I humbly suggest cutting down on the feedings and cleaning out or otherwise improving the efficiency of your skimmer.

    I was haveing a larg problem with algae about year ago, along with the snalls I was changing about 20 % of the water every week for about 2 months and only had the lights on for 5 hours a day, I also tryed to remove a lot of it by hand.
