Urgent help!!... did i just killed my chromis or what?

well what happened is that i redid my aquascape.. 2 hours later i could only count 8 chromis in my tank...

i thought that maybe he was hiding and he would come out later.. but today he is no where to be found either..


so did i just crushed my fish? or what? im so scared that i did.. should i take everything down and search for it?

what should i do?

Relax and wait. A lot of times they are just hiding. Let everything settle back down for a day or two. Then look again.

 

well the only reason why im worried is because all of the other chromis are out and about.. they even ate yesterday like nothing happened. but there were only 8 still..

maybe one got scared while aquascaping and decided to jump. have you looked around the tank?

 

Well...I would just wait...because if you did crush him I'm sure he's dead by now....but if you don't see him in a couple days or so, then I would look for him (because his body might cause an ammonia spike).

yea i looked in the overflows and in the back and sides.. nothing to see.

 

man i hope he isnt dead..

 

could be dead or hiding. the only thing re-tearing up the aquascape would do is risk losing another one. would recommend just waiting it out. hope he shows up for you.
