will do. I just threw in 25 pounds worth of pukani rock from BRS following the 1/2 lbs per gallon rule for that type and seems kinda empty in the tank. I'm hoping that once the rock cures and I add the deep sand bed that it will look better. Here's progress so far with bare bottom.

That's not bad of a loss. I have a co worker of mine who keeps a backup power supply plugged in all the time to a few pumps and filter incase of power outages. everyone called him crazy before and then when the power went out we stood quiet lol....Yea I fly them. well not much the past few years. Going to this summer again though.

Hey dave i myself am getting into the hobby and learning as i go. Just a little heads up i see that you are from queens have you check out regal aquariums? He is on the corner of bath and bay 16th. On saturday and sunday everything in the store is 20 % off. Live rock is 4.50lb, he normally gets in big shipments of livestock and corals weekly and they are apart of the sale as well. Even though the owners english skills are lacking lol he is pretty knowledgeable and you can always haggle him down =). Check it out!

4.50 a lb for live rock in NY? Wow, that sounds like a good deal!- no sarcasm intended.

RCflyer- Please do some extensive reaearch on the pros and cons of a DSB = deep sand bed. IMO- I wouldn't (and don't) have one. Others will grill me for that comment however. Pros and cons

O wow! thanks for the info. I'm definitely going to check the place out. There's a shop on Francis Lewis Blvd and Northern Blvd that is big and has a good selection on everything, but his prices are ridiculous on most things.
