If your having problems with ammonia, your filtration is either not up to par, or your over stocked.
What size tank you running? and how many fish?

Well theres the problem right there.
The filtration you have is rated for 20 gallons....... Means thats the max filtration it can handle. Which in turn means the pads are in need of cleaning or changed. I always double the reccommend filtration myself.
Im running a 55gallon and i have 2 40-60 Gallon hob filters on it.
thats a max of 120 gallons.
Also add an air pump and stone if you havnt already.
Hope you get things cleared up

OK the water is still hazy since the gravel vac and its getting worse. Its like white in there. The fish seems fine and are still eating good so i'm thinking i should just wait it out??

I would check the filterpads, change the water, or add come crystal clear water treatment

I cleaned the filter pad when i did the gravel vac and its only a 20G tank so the vac pumped out about 5G and i replaced the water so I'm thinking maybe the crystal clear water treatment would be the best. You think thats good enough? I know its a wierd question ive only had the tank about 8 weeks so i didnt wanna overdue the water changes till it's been broken in a lilttle better from advice I've heard at LFS. what do you think?

The crystal clear isint going to harm your fish.
+ it only takes 24-48hours to work
    Its worth a shot
