Great question, I found this interesting, (from wikipedia).

"Lamellibrachia luymesi is a cold seep tube worm that reaches lengths of over 3 meters and may be the most long lived animal at over 250 years old."

Get a coral branded shrimp and they will take care of them. If you have a bunch then that is usually from overfeeding.

Well, I've seen a few in my tank at night while viewing and they seemed to move pretty slow. Has that been your experience?

It is ok to have a few or get a shrimp and have it feed on them to keep em in check.

I just saw one under covered rocks where my fire shrimp hangs out. It was coming from the bottom of a rock and onto the next rock 2-3 inches away and down the side of that rock. I could see about 6-7 inches of it and didn't see either end.

I don't like anything that looks like a snake, and this thing does. I went to get my tongs and jerk that fella out! By the time I got back, it was gone.

It showed up again, I had my tongs right beside me and went in for the kill. All of a sudden, that sucker flew out of there like a shot. It lookes exactly like a bristle worm, but do they do that. It was gone like shooting a rubber band. EEK
