I filled the tank with water before going to work this morning and plugged in the heater.

When I got home, the water was a good 85 degrees!

Luckily, when I bought the heater, I had also bought a thermostat from Hydor at the same time. So, I got it out and plugged it in for a test...

I had to find a way to stick the temperature probe in the tank. The only think I could readily find was a paper clip lol

I let it set for a while and got the temperature to stabilize at around 79-80 degrees. Perfect!

I got a fish tonight too ;D But it's gotten so late, I haven't even got a picture yet. I'll try to get a few good pics tomorrow.

I almost forgot to mention, I was starting to worry this little guy was gonna starve to death. I tried feeding him the first couple days....he'd bite the food, then promptly spit it back out! He would do it over and over, as if he didn't care for it.

Then today he finally ate ;D and he got a lot more active too.

oh, and I named him Tiburón.

You're probably right! I've been thinking that I should put something in there that will give him a place to hide or sleep, but I'm not sure what would look good. Maybe I'll just stay with what it has now for a while
