I think you are right on the tips flattening out based on my Cali tort. It will be interesting to see the growth start again below the surface.

Can't wait till mine has reached this point!! I had a digi that was cresting surface (more as a function of placement than growth though.) It did exactly as Trent mentioned. Grew to the water line, stopped, branched and just kept getting bushier.

That is showing my experience. I need to take a pic of the tort branch that has been at the surface for some time now.

Doesn't seem like a problem to be worried of, I think it looks cool but if you want to frag the tips and send to me I'm fine with that too :)

Here is a shot of the tip on my tort. It should give you a good idea of what to expect.

    Yes!

    Perfect, thanks.

    Thanks 1.0reef. :)

@bobssecrtsn: Snake oil only works with RP's as it's having little affect on my other acropora.

hopefully my RP will branch out like that. given that i have a shallow tank +1 for me! it has multiple branching now I'd say about 8+ about 1" on majority of them. you were right! they do take out once they encrust

    Oh good. :)

And yeah I hate to make generalizations about corals but I see it time and time again with frags from this colony. Another thing is to cut off the tips if it does stop with vertical growth, seems to work, weird stuff.
