    really.. didnt know that. so i dont need to feed plankton to my tank? i have only a few polyps and small fish in a 50 gal. guy at pet store told me to put in 2 capfulls a day of plankton

    I just went through the algae war in my tank from dosing Phytoplankton. I think it was Craig that told me it is pure phosphate. Needless to say I threw out the Phyto I had left.

    Actually it was Mike aka moforeef who told you about phyto = phosphates, but that is correct PO.

    I have to buy more snails because I've lost like 4 of them. I have 4 red legged hermit crabs and I have 3 snails left. I'm gonna buy some more. How many do u guys have.

    2 got sucked to a powerhead and the others just died for no reason.

    Snails are very sensetive to nitrites, what is your reading?

    You're right Craig, sorry Mike.
    About the Zooplankton, I'd be afraid to dose anything liquid or powder. I used to dose Coral Vital also, which is a powder and that raised the phosphate levels of the tank. I had other problems too but this just added to it. Craig had just mentioned and I also read that just cleaning the algae off the glass is enough to feed most filter feeders.  I guess the idea is to add as little to the tank as possible to keep the water as pure as possible. I feed frozen Krill and Mysis shrimp but only once/week and a very small amount. I feed flake every 3 days.
