hi, I have a 55 gal. aquarium with 260 watt PC fixture. Half actinic and half 10000K. I have 50 lbs. of LS and 25 of LR. I have about a fluval canister filter, a power filter, and a skimmer. Is this enough for polyps or hammer or xeina or brain corals. How much flow do these corals need. Does the filters and skimmer flows count in the water flow of my tank.

Lighting is good for xenia and polyps. I am not 100% sure on the hammer and brain but i think you would be alright,

Might want to look at adding some more Live Rock, i would recommend at least 50 Lbs total. Also in a tank that long i would add a few power heads.

I have to aqua head powerheads each about 250 gph. where would be the best place to put them. It is like 4.7 watt/gal.

I think you will be fine with the lighting you have. I would place the LPS (Brain and Hammer) high in the tank.

what and how often should I feed my yellow polyps. Do they need to be high up in my tank and do they need a lot of water movement. Do they need high light. I have some already just checkin.

My experience is that you don't have to feed these guys (yellow polyps) Anything (special) - they grow like mad in just about any kind of light from high to low - spread like crazy.

Very easy to cut off rock and move to other places in tank also.

They do like "some" water movement.

i have 4 red leg hermit crabs and they have been crawling around my yellow polyps could they do any damage to them and can they eat them. I read that there not supposed to. do u feed brine shrimp to yellow polyps. Do u have to do something to them for them to spread.
