Question about the green hair algae? Does it use any light or only certain spectrums to grow? I am battling the hair algae (and losing right now... not really, but I have a fair amount) and was suggested to me to keep the lights off for a week. Well, with my lights off, my fish never come out, so I thought maybe just using the blue light might be OK. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

I won the battle with hair algea by turning off the lights and just leaving the actinics on for 2 weeks. Plus i added some scarlet hermits crabs that helped out a little.
