So I was doing a water change this morning and noticed that there is some dead area at the base of my green digitata. Parameters are all fine and the only thing I can think is that when I was killing some aptasia earlier in the week maybe some aptasia x got on it accidentally.

So what should I do? Will the area grow back sorta like how monticaps do if they are damaged? Or is the thing going to stn like an acro and be dead in an hour?

Heres a pic. Its the white area at the base of the coral.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Honestly if the STN continues at the base I would frag it. Also check those ALK levels and swings. Make sure corals growing closely have not hindered flow to that area of the coral.

    Nice coral BTW.

    thanks

Its been a few days and nothing is spreading. Looks like a little aptasia x got on it and burned it.

Do digitatas stn like acros do? Like at the same speed?

so if its not spreading it should be ok to just leave it alone right?

    It should eventually grow back?

Personally I have only seen sps grow back over skeleton again once. Those are not large areas so I would not be concerned. Pretty corals BTW.
