I'm not going to doubt GTS when it comes to building a remarkable tank setup but I'm fearing the same things that you are. If I were GTS I might sit back a while and see how things go and grow.
Man do they grow and certain corals sting others and have to be moved to safer surroundings. I had to go from a 65g to a 120g and then to a 210g in less than a year so I can tell you it's tricky keeping up with it.
I will say I'm very impressed with the tank.
Maybe I'm missing something but aren't tangs suppose to go in last? They do tend to be rulers of their turf. Now Anthias and Chromis' do not pose a problem I believe as they aren't as big at eating veggies as say any other tangs or an angel.
Hey I'm just going along on this thread for the ride. Who knows? How many times I've gone into fish stores and saw fish of all ranks swimming together. It's all a matter of their nature and a tank that size might qualify as being an exception to the normal rule. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
In case any of you missed this on You Tube this is David Saxby's awesome tank. I have no idea how many gallons it holds but this is a work of art. The first minute is in black and white and then it goes color.

I'm glad you moved the anenome out of there. You never know with them. I had one in my 120g and it died inside the rocks in the back and I had to pull out all the rocks that were in front of it and then I said no more of that. I got over it.:)

I wrote a long thoughtful reply to marlinman's post on Friday and lost it because I'd got automatically logged out while I was writing and of course I hadn't copied it to the clipboard. You'd think I'd learn from my earlier mistakes but apparently not.

I'm working on some new additions to the tank but none of it is livestock. I finally went to hook up my calcium reactor this weekend and discovered that my CO2 regulator was DOA. I need to get that replaced and order my chiller.

On the plus side, I finally got the software for my Proflux controller set up and working. Having the controller set-up means that my lights are finally on a timer. I'll probably still play with the photoperiod some more but I'm pleased that my MH's come on one at a time over 15 minutes and turn off the same way. The VHO's come on before the MH's and go off after. Another nice feature is if the tanke temperature hits 81.4 deg F, the MH's automatically turn off.

81.4? just an odd number... any reason? not like 81.5,82.0, 82.5.

I have mine at 82.0... I didnt do any actual research on what a good shutoff number would be. Just know that 82 and above gets to stress sps more specifically acros.

I agree that it's a strange number, I'm pretty sure the Profilux thinks in metric and then converts to imperial.

I think in metric (well actually S.I.) units when I'm at work but think in imperial units when I'm at home.

That my friend is a hell of setup. MH's can be beautiful and a pain at the same time. I had a 175W MH on my old 65g with 2 T5's on each side. I could only run the MH for 5 hours a day BUT it was a small closed in canopy. When you have the distance from the water and an open back and fans blowing and on top of that an auto shut off, wow is all I can say! Man you are insane.

My canopy is essentially completely enclosed b/c the back is flush against the wall. Thankfully I have a 6" PVC pipe in there for ventilation connected to a fan that pulls over 200 cfm. This lets me keep the MH's on for 10 hours a day. The VHOs are on for 14.

I'm very happy that I can think in both SI and "American" (imperial) units. It really helps. Because of my Engineering class, conversions between the 2 systems will always be in my head.

GTS, what brand of regulator did you have? I personally wouldn't try any brand but a reef fanatic. I know the milwaukee brand ones are well known to fail, but if that was a milwaukee brand, DOA is a really bad service life, but any brand can have a DOA item.
