Got kalk ?

    my calcium is at 495 meg/L and my alk is at 4.5. should my alk be higher.

    What test kit are you using? if this is the 9 divided by 2 then you need to times it by 2.8 like this 4.5 x 2.8 = 12.6 DKH so it is all ready high if this is true. A good alk range is 7 to 11.
    Cal is a little high also so you must stop dripping kalk till both come down some.

    How are you dripping it right now and where are you dripping it into?

    mines the seatest and fastest calcium and alk test kits. i'm not dripping yet i ran out so i'm using liquid calcium by kent

    just leave the tank alone and let the cal and alk drop back down to nornal.

    Ditto on that.

    Your calcium is still to high, so don't be adding things, ESPCEIALLY Kent Liquid Ca, at this time, you will mess things up.

    All though I'm a big fan of SeaTest, I'm not on their Ca and Alkv kits. They just seem to not work right to many times and give bad readings, but they are better than Red Sea, which really suck.

    Get a Salifert, LaMotte or SeaChem

    NO

    400 to 450 and most target the 450.

    Is this before the conversion of x 2.8 to get DKH?
    If so it is a little high.

    if you take the 4.5 x 2.8 = 12.6

    Alk range should be 7 to 11 DKH
