Hehe. Boy do I know what you mean. I think every part of my life can be summed up that way.

I look forward to seeing pics of the salamander in there!

got some pics of the salamander.
this is a good one where hes coming right out of the water, at first i thought it would be a problem and he wouldnt be able to get from the water to the land, but he does it fine.

yeah you can see his coloring pretty good, its strange he appears to have changed color a bit from yesterday when he appeared to be more black and grey with a light yellow belly. now the grey looks more like a dark green.

well i guess one of the big downfalls of having such a large setup for such a small little salamander is he can squeeze into any nook and cranny, he is as of now MIA i have flipped over the rocks but there are just too many places he could be hiding. im hoping eventually hell come out.

as for the water section of the tank it is already getting quite dirty, i have an air pump in there for water movement so the water doesnt become stale but what do you think would be a good type of filtration? a small canister filter?

Canister filter would be your best bet. Would the pump have enough power though?

In my Poison dart frog terrarium i use plants to filter. I have a 20 long with a plenum and a small shallow river feature with lots of tropical moss and ferns. Still on't know where the ferns came from.........
