    Matt, you're welcome.
We ex-military types know ASAP. I"m just glad my tank is never FUBAR!

Beamer (Cindy) has a couple of acronyms in her signature that I don't recognize:

    LPS
    BTA

    Are they types of coral?

    Matt,
Now that the Nano givaway is over (rats!), here's your reminder that you were going to work on the glossary.
    :)

For now, let's add some other terms to this thread!

MH = Metal Halide, a powerful type of lighting
PC = Power Compact, a type of fluorescent lighting
that takes less space than standard fluorescent bulbs.
T5 = at 5/8 inch diameter, thinner than standard fluorescent (T8) bulbs. Also comes in T5-HO for High Output.
T12 = Large diameter (1.5 inch) fluorescent bulb
SPS = ???? Polyp Stony Coral

As before, I invite others to add terms of their own or to improve my definitions.

I wanted to add some light bulb terms:
fluorescent = creates light by electrically exciting vapor in a glass tube

T5, T8, T12 = the size (diameter) of fluorescent bulbs is measured in eighths of an inch. So T5 is 5/8 (0.625) inch diameter, T8 is 1 inch, and T12 is 1 1/2 inch. All three types generally come in 2, 3 and 4 foot lengths.

incandescent = creates light by heating a wire filament. Metal Halide (MH) bulbs are incandescent as are general purpose light bulbs.
