I'm the designated toucher in this house LOL. I'm also the designated tester *sigh*. But he does all the heavy lifting :D.

my girlfriend wanted to feed the fish tonight, so i told her to put some tank water in a small bowl and drop a frozen cube in. so she runs off to the kitchen and i hear drawers opening and closing and about 4 minutes later she comes into the den, and all the food looks already thawed out...I asked her what she was doing in there? she told me she doesnt like to touch the food once it's thawed out, like i do, and that she takes a fork and breaks the cube up in the bowl, just in order not to touch it....

So then I said, "are you going to eat with that fork now?" ;)

Welcome to the forums Kristiavi . Nice setup you have started :)

People can also view your album by clicking on your user name, and then clicking on the album section on the right hand side of the page. I see you have some kenya tree and pulsing xenia. Those along with zoanthids were my first frags. Your soft corals, once established and acclimated, are good water stability indicators for your tank. They will let you know when something is off with your water.

I would watch the sand sifting star closely and makes sure it has enough to eat. A 46 gallon probably doesn't have enough sand, especially if it is not mature, for the sand sifter to live long term. They will also deplete your live sand of the beneficial organisms that make the sand bed so useful. If you want a clean sand bed, you can try to trade him in for a sand sifting cucumber. If you like the way sand sifting stars looks, I suggest you supplement his feeding, as it takes months for a sand sifting star to starve once it is out of food. Here is a link on some info on them: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/sndsftstrfaqs.htm?h=

Happy reefing and enjoy the ride! :p
