    Hello everyone!

Let me start by introducing myself, my name is Kristi and im a 21 year old Navy Wife currently surviving my 2nd deployment. My husband and I talked about starting a tank and I was happy with just fresh water but he insisted starting a saltwater tank instead. I had never even seen a saltwater tank before I stepped foot into the LFS and thats when the addiction happened.lol They are so amazingly beautiful. So I bought a 36 gallon bow front aquarium and started from scratch. Researched all i possibly could because i knew the stuff was to exspennsive to be making mistakes. I have had my tank up and going for a little over a month and I love just watching it, My husband wont get to see it for another 5 months and I want to to be just perfect by then =]

The only downside to doing this tank by myself is having to touch the livestock, it really grosses me out, especially soft coral. I have to wear gloves, lol :)

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Sounds like you're doing great.

I too have some issues with touching some corals like duncans, anything that slimes as soon as you touch it.

Boys most definitely out number us girls, but we have a good number on this forum. I always try to be careful in determining gender, because you never know.

im a girl and have set up several tanks..salt and fresh. after a while touching them will not effect you. becareful though and research every thing you put in your tank. some things aren't meant to be touched. and when picking fish, pick the ones that come to the front of the tank and aren't hiding.

Welcome to 3reef, and yes, girls can have tanks too! I had 3 back in 2000-2004, and just started another up last October with my boyfriend. I got him addicted within the first 2 weeks! ;)
