your using T5s exclusively or do you also run halides on this set up

can you describe your manual dosing scheme to me please
whats the demand like for the big 3 - Calc, Alk and Mag in your set up
what product are you using to maintain these levels?
what testing do you do in terms of kits used and frequency of use?

sorry for the questions, Im a wannabe SPS keeper but very much still in the learning stages

    Steve

Steve Wright Yes T5 is the only lighting i have ever used,me and my family have a small house,no central air,i would be forced to use a chiller with halides.Don't get me wrong,i LUV T5's there's nothing i can't grow, and i get good colors.I just started manual dosing, had a calcium reactor for a few months, didn't like how low my PH got too..7.40.I use bulk calcium, mag and baked baking soda.I'm lazy when it comes to testing,it's a guessing game with most kits,so i've just been lucky for 2 yrs :) I have just recently started doing 3- five gallon water changes a month,i've done 2 times a month for 2 yrs.I found out my mag was low(900) and was wondering why tips were dying.Alk was at 6 and cal was 360..i know way to low.I have no idea what daily demands will be,i'm just dosing slowly and carefully and might check twice a week, till i get it figured out.I'm selling the reactor and am going to purchase a duel dosing pump setup.Mag isn't a big demand like alk and cal,so i'll just test a few times a month, and adjust that.I'm a low tech reefer, and when i'm home i look at the tank probably 50 times a day.The acros will tell me if there's a problem. And not having all the fancy dodads to do things for me,makes me a hands on guy,so i look closely, and hopefully catch a problem in the bud.

Oh tatted4ever ..i almost missed you... 2 years sir
