Should be fine, but honestly I'm not sure why you chose the LED route for a fuge. Personally I use a clip-on reading light from walmart with a 40W lightbulb (fluorescent, 6000K). Plenty of algae growth in the fuge with that.

Sounds like a good reason to me! Please post pics once it is up and running.

I use a LED grow light pannel on my fuge, works great! -- Its an expensive option though, so if you have cash to burn its a great option; otherwise you may want to look at investing the extra dough on something else for your setup.

just finished building/installing the fuge. Overall i think it came out great and the LED light looks as good as I was hoping and it is very bright. Unfortunately, all the LFS around my house are sold out of chaeto so I wont know if its sufficient for algae growth just yet.

Next weekend, or if i have any time between work and school, im going to run over to the inter coastal and pick up a few mangroves.

here are a few pics. sorry about the quality, iPhone took them. Ill post some better ones on monday.

Got some chaeto that seems to be doing ok and about a 4" sand bed (30lbs of sand in a 12x10x12 area). Already have a diatom bloom happening in there and I can see a ton of pods running around as well.

I run a AquaC Remora HOB skimmer and a Two Little Fishes Phosban reactor that both hang on back of the sump.
