I don't have Purple Tips - mine are

• Regular green
• Neon Yellow

Mine blow up like that when a lot of nutrients are added to the tank.

is because you were also asking about the browning ...

are you using Seachem's Reef Plus?​

If you are using that or some other amino acid type additive- cut back on that by about 50%

It takes a good bit of a few weeks to lose the brownish coloring at the base of the fingers.

 

one of the tips have fallen of the tentacle of me frogspawn is this normal, and when fully out its impossible for all the tips to get light as they overhang and some fall low?

anyway, I have 2 frogspawns in my 55 g that is lit by 8*54 watt t5 bulbs!
one of the frogspawns is even close up to the top. Although it has bleached considerably from when i bought it, the coral is still growing at a decent rate (about doubble in size every year).

My point is that once initially aclimited, this coral is ok with high light

but from your pic, I can hardly even see what your talking about....i wouldnt worry
