Over the last few days my frogspawn has been smaller and not opening near as full as it has been. Today the bottom looks a dark color. I've had it about 9 or 10 months. Only thing different in my tank is I changed to reef crystals instead of instant ocean. Only done 4 gallons of WC with the Reef crystals so far. 40 breeder. SG is 1.025. 0 on Amm, nitrites and nitrates. Calcium is over 500. All is 10.1. Mag is over 1600. Those last three have always been high in my tank and never has been a problem. Any ideas. Are you dosing anything for cal and mag? Regular Instant Ocean mag and cal are no where near those numbers so maybe check your test kits as well, and what test kits are you using?

That's what it looks like now. It's shriveled up and dark at the bottom.

Never dosed anything. Red Sea test kits.

While I also agree that your numbers seem high for IO salt, it does produce similar levels to that of NSW. Unless you have several LPS corals, routine water changes would still suffice. I would recommend getting a second test kit or have your LFS double-check your results.

It split into four separate heads a month ago. It was as big as a fist up until a couple of days ago and now it's a lot smaller.

Looks fine to me. That's a really nice frogspawn. Looks like it's part hammer coral. Lol.
