freshwater saltcups?

    how exactly do i make a salt cup [diffuser or container] for freshwater fish that breeds? i saw this at petco and the guy said i should do this, i have one of those small containers with a lip that holds betta, how many holes should i punch into it and how much salt in it? please help me. im 16 from california. my tank is a 30gal
