I have a coral perfect for fragging its hanging off the rock 2/3 inches on both sides. Do I cut it in the water? What do I do with the cut spot on the frag/ coral. Do I glue the cut to the plug on the frag. Do I kiss the coral and say I am sorry ? Just don't want to screw this up. Tried to post a pic of the coral hope it works :).

The pic isn't showing up for me. What type of coral is it?

Edit: Pic's working now. If it's attached to a rock, you may be able to peel some off, but you may also have to cut the rock up with a dremel.

Green Star Polyp and yup you can just cut it in the tank. GSP is going to hurt you more in the long run than you hurting it, so no kissing required, unless you want to kiss your rocks good bye. :p

The questions arises as to what your going to do with the piece you cut. GSP peels of pretty easily. If you want to attach it to some rubble you can use superglue gel, or tie it with some dental floss, or put it in a small container in a super low flow area with some rubble and the coral will attach. Or you could do what I did and glue to the back wall of my tank thinking that would be awesome, and it was for the 1st year, after that not so much.

It's GSP, I have just ripped pieces off a rock with no harm done.
