Since the thread is Lighting I figured I'd jump in Here!

My new frag tank is 24X20X9.5 high. Its a 20 gallon to start my fragging endevors. Anyway, lots of talk all over the net for what lighting to use for frag tanks but I am still not sure what I should go with. Since the tank is only 9.5" tall and the frags will be about an inch off the bottom so if I end up with 8" inches of water and the inch off the bottom thats only about 7" from the surface. I'll be running it off my DT.

I will be doing mainly SPS but would like to do some LPS as well. May stick the LPS on the bottom along the sides. So, with that said, what do you folks thing I should do for lighting?

150w MH (trying to avoid having to do the hanging deal)
    250w MH

If MH I think I will probably go around 10K just to keep some corloration. I run my DT with 12K and I think it seems to work well as an overall light.

The question then is if I go MH should I do 150w or 250w, how high off the water surface. One MH should cover 24X20" right or do I need to look reflector spec's as well?

Then I think what about a 4X24w T5, will this greatly decrease the growth rate? The heat will be a little better (I think ) The MH would be a no brainer if the water wasn't so shallow so thats what kind of throughs me off.

Any advice/help is appreciated! I am tossing my brain on this one!

    Thanks Paul
