I just got a Deep Blue Aquarium reef ready frag tank
    The dimensions are 24x24x12
Wich one of these fixtures will be better for growing out most types of coral including sps and lps?
    Fixtures:
    1. Odyssea Metal Halide System

    2. Odyssea Metal Halide System

    3. Odyssea Metal Halide System

They are all very similar but the third has 4 t5 bulbs instead of 2
And the second is 250w HQI instead of the 150w HQI of the first
    Thanks guys

Go with the first one, that is more than enough for a shallow tank.

    I would go with a 4 bulb T5HO fixture, or option 1

I would go with a single 250w metal halide fixture with a 20k bulb so no further actinic is needed. You can place lower light corals at the outer edges and high light in the middle and also adjust the light up or down to cover the full tank etc.

if you go with a MH fixture, make sure you have the light fixture high up from the tank. I would just run a basic t5ho fixture on it........otherwise you are going to burn up your corals in a shallow tank like that

I agree you have to be careful but you will not burn up your corals if you place the light high. A friend has a single 250w 20k radium over his frag tank. Its one of those large black water tanks like 4x3 feet across and he has his light about 18" to 24" off the surface of the water. The corals are only about 4" below the surface and they are doing fine. Just as an example.
