    gen-x pcx 100 is 1" gen-x pcx40 is 3/4". its up to you, check out there ratings along with little giant pumps. and you can change whatever you want at home depot or menards or lowes or whatever.

    how much turn over do i need? 900gph? or something higher?

    theres internal and external flow

    external flow is only good upto what your overflows are rated for

    internal flow will depend on your coral

    well i am planing to have 2 koralia 4 and then use a gen x as a return pump how does that sound? is the pump loud? it will sit in the living room so i dont want to have a pump louder than the tv

    Going along with what reefguru said, you only need to match the gph coming down to the sump or gph your skimmer can handle. For example if you have a skimmer that can skim 600gph of water then you need a pump thats pushing around 600 or a little bit more .(you can always control the output with a ball valve)

    thanks for the help reef_guru, i will try to find out how much water is flowing down the overflow tomorrow and the decide the output. karma for u
