Urgent Fish Loss

Yup appears to be ICK.. UGH UGH UGH .. I just fed with some garlic and got an ick treatement. I hope I can save the 2 fish I have left.. They look pretty bad I dont' have a QT so going to have to manage through this.

 

And what ich treatment did you get?

 

Kordon Rid Fungus. Was late tonight so petco was the only place that was open. Was all they had.

 

Make sure it has no copper. If so set up a quarantine tank.

 

Personally I would not bother than.

Marine Ich (Cryptocaryon irritans) is a parasite. It say treatment of Ich on the bottle but it's basically snake oil. Another clue is 100% multiple organic ingredients, per their web site.

You do not want to add this product to a tank with corals and it will not treat Marine Ich.


Your choices are

1. Stress reduction and diet enhancement.
2. Copper in a QT.
3. Formalin. (not the best route by far and not in a display).
4. Hyposalinity.

Never combine treatments.

Ok thanks Everyone.. I have a bunch of reading to do. Just nervous its to late. I don't have a QT tank I can set up

I moved last weekend. had to move the tank. so my yellow tang was the only one that survived. He had some white spots on him and looked like he was on the outs.. But now he is happy and clean and color is really good. corals look good and levels are good. I am not planning on adding any more live stock or corals for months.

any suggestions on what to be on the look out for?

 

I'm very sorry for your loss! I am however glad that at least you still have one fish left.

 

Sounds like keep the fish you have well fed and hopefully your fish will stay healthy!
