Ok! I am still debating on hermits. I have heard both ways. I'm leaning towards trying one or two, to at least "sharpen the sword" so to speak of my SW aquaria techniques and see how it goes.

Alright!! Got some stuff today. First off,
Dr Foster&Smith kinda boned me royally and delayed my order causing some headaches, but the prices are nearly Unbeatable.

DIY stand that I found plans for on a huge thread on 3reef, pallet wood to skin the thing.

Tested for leaks, 20min of inundation, all clear. Drained it all off.

Anyways. The heater is back-ordered, so I'll be buying a stand in, cheap heater from LFS until that one shows up. I'll need another one anyways.

The Hydor skimmer right now is in the 2nd chamber. Not really sure if that's appropriate, but it's the only place I could have it fit comfortably. I suppose I'll be making a media rack to slide in the same chamber.

Question: is it backwards to put the heater in chamber 1, before all the water flows through the filter media and return?

Hopefully will be getting rock, and water this week......

Thanks for the compliments everyone. It took me some time! But here are some build questions:

It really does not matter where heater is.
Most people end up removing the stock filter media and replacing with chaeto and fuge light.
