Cool. Nice work... that gives me an idea for my current light issue - I have a fixture but I am a bit stumped on how to mount it over my open top tank - did you use anchor bolts in the wall?

I am pretty sure they are called splitting screws or something. My dad actually did that part cause it looked pretty complicated. Matt, when do you suggest i can start putting corals in the tank? It was born December 4, 2010! hehe :)

Without a lot of extra water in a sump you might want to think about covering that bad boy to cut down on evaporation. Your salinity swing might make corals unhappy from my experience.

PS matt go ahead and delete my post about the video it was meant for another thread. Thanks!!!

Yes, it does evaporate but only 1/4 a gallon a day. I have back up water right below the tank so nothing will swing too much!

Alright! It has been running since December 4th 2010! How more long till i can put my first batch of corals in it?? In batch, i mean 5 or 6 kenya trees. Hehehe It reminds me of baking cookies and selling them to your neighboors! :) LOL

I put some sps frags in my frag tank the same day I set it up... They have all been going strong since and even despite the lack of "maturity" they have even colored up nicer than in my DT!
But I guess that's what 175w about 5" above 25 gallons will do lol

Your build is looking nice but do you have anything in there yet!?
