I must have gone through 4 or 5 in the 3 years iv been in the hobby.

Had this guy for 6 months now, had two more heads but a rock tumbled on it and damaged them badly enough that they started loosing tissue, to avoid contamination i was forced to frag ( i gave it a week and monitored for improvement but it was getting worse by the day)

Since then iv epoxed the rock above it to make sure it would not happen again.

Awesome addition, i have had 1 for a month, 2 head green tip i love it, what i have noticed is when the torch recedes at lights off, one of the heads in the centre a shrimp tube worm thing keeps popping in and out, totally wierd, think its filter feeding.

hmmm could you be a little more specific on the looks of your critter? its common for duster feeders and others to come attached to out coral colonies, most are harmless and eventually die out from starvation....

here is a good reference site to get you on the right path to identifying your hitch-hicker

From what I can see, it does appear to be a barnacle. Most don't survive long as we tend to keep our tanks too clean for them.

Very beautiful torch, Jeff. Hope you have better luck with it in the future. :)

My torch doesn't seem to grow either. My hammer, bubble, frogspawn and everything else has gotten a lot bigger. Can't figure it out. It doesn't response to feeding either like my other corals.
