    Nice shots. You'll find that the two hobbies go and in hand. I love taking macro pictures and there is no better subject than a reef tank, especially when it is 10degF outside.

    I will have to remember to shut if off. Mommy likes it on when we get pics of the kids instead of writing on the back of the photo.

    awesome pics otty.. i've been saving my pennies for a proper macro lense for my dslr.. the 717's a good cam though.. i went through it and bought f828.. still have it actually.. and unfortunately i have a a350 as well and lenses are a bit more expensive now a days

    I have had this 717 for about 8 yrs now and really like it. Might replace it one day but not any time soon. I picked up a +1, +2, +4, & Macro (10x)

    now you've got me thinking.. i think the sony alpha macro lense is about 4 or 500 bucks.. do you have a link for that macro for the 717? I might have to scoop it for the time being and use my 828
